CONGRATULATIONS, ALLEYGATORS SECOND GRADE PREMIERS IN 2025!

Here at Alleygators we try and create an environment where everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. We invest in our players through providing a range of support services, from strength and conditioning programs through to high class facilities. We want everyone to be able to enjoy their rugby experience and to have an opportunity to do their best. But we aren’t just about that. We are a family club with a strong commitment to the club values.
That’s what really brings us together and makes us a strong club.

This has been a very full year for senior gators. We’ve had three teams each week and a massive program. We were competitive across all levels and stretched ourselves, and the competition. Our first-grade team finished sixth on the ladder, higher than last year and were unlucky to lose a few close games which would have seen them in the finals. The heart and passion definitely showed the trajectory we are aiming for and we’re already excited about next year.

2nd Grade were consistent performers every week of the year and went all the way through to victory in the Grand Final. Our 2025 Champions had a tough run to the Grand Final, but they showed their character as a team and their focus, to absolutely dominate in the game that mattered most. It was a resounding victory for the boys and their army of supporters, who turned up in numbers and gave it a home ground advantage. It was the game of the season and a fitting end for the club, who didn’t field a 2nd grade team last year.

Our amazing 3rd grade team also made the finals and were the victims of some strange GCRU laws. However, they didn’t once back down from the challenge and almost went all the way. It was an incredible effort for a team that featured several players who had never played rugby before. Fair to say this group played to their potential and were amazing. Whilst unlucky to not get to the play the Grand Final this year, the potential and desire is there, so look out Gold Coast – we’ll be back.

The Club is taking the time to celebrate not only the players achievements, but the 45th year of the Club. To be able to field three grades, with two grades in the finals, is a massive achievement. The Club was supported incredibly by past players, volunteers and passionate supporters. The noise at the swamp on a home game made visiting teams uncomfortable during the game, but we also had some great social times with our competitors once the whistle blew. That’s the spirit of rugby that brings people together and will see the Gators celebrate another 45 years in the future.

On behalf of all those involved in Senior Rugby, we would like to thank our Club, our volunteers and supporters, who make our time here so special. We also thank our players for their skills, passion and commitment to the cause – we bleed green!

U13 GRAND FINAL

Congratulations to our U13 team, coming runner up this season!

After a week’s delay, our U13s finally took the field for their Grand Final clash against Nerang. The boys came out strong, taking the lead into half-time and holding it well into the second half. In a nail-biting finish, they were narrowly run down, going down 39–31.

This group has shown tremendous growth throughout the season, with a few sons of Old Boys proudly carrying on the Alleygators tradition. We can’t wait to see them build on this year’s efforts and take the next step in 2026.
