This week’s Girls player profile is one of many new comers to the club in 2018 and it’s also her 1^st year playing Rugby Sevens- Jemma Bemrose from the U17’s Girls team. Jemma’s played a lot of touch and Oztag before trying her hand at Sevens as her school (Elanora SHS) started training and entered a competition. Her friends decided to start up a team, so they all joined. She remembers her first game as being very nervous and the contact was so new, but once she started it was plenty of fun while other Girls were supportive and giving advice as she was learning to play. Jemma’s favourite part is the tackling, often chasing across to cut off and chop the attackers in half, and she’s still not sure on the lineouts but is learning every training and gameday. She is very keen to stay in the game, and has also been playing with our Opens team on Fridays too, and would love to play at higher rep levels in the future also.
